Massage with health insurance

Does health insurance cover a massage?

Basic insurance does not cover my massages. However, many supplementary insurers contribute to the cost if the therapist is recognised by EMR or ASCA. How much depends on your insurer and your policy.

Which supplementary insurance pays for a massage?

That depends on your policy. You can see the insurers that recognise my massages on the page «Health insurance». It is best to ask your insurer before your appointment how much it will cover.

What is the difference between the wellness price and the health insurance price?

The wellness price is the lower one and cannot be claimed through health insurance. The health insurance price is higher and includes the receipt for your supplementary insurance, which often covers part of the cost.

What is a ZSR number?

The ZSR number is the number under which a therapist is listed in the health insurers' register of payees (Zahlstellenregister). It is on your receipt so that your supplementary insurance can assign the massage. My ZSR number is W038464.

What do EMR and ASCA mean?

EMR is the Swiss register for complementary medicine, and ASCA is the Swiss Foundation for Complementary Medicine. Both recognise therapists, and many supplementary insurers go by their recognition. I am recognised by both.

My insurer does not recognise the massages. What now?

Then I will gladly massage you at the lower wellness price. The booking shows you this as soon as you choose your insurer.

Do I also get the receipt if I pay online?

Yes. You receive the receipt for your health insurance by email after the massage, whether you pay online or at the studio.

Massage

All about the massage

Which massage is right for me?

For more flexibility and new energy: traditional Thai massage. For tension: the classic massage or the neck and back massage. To unwind: the Thai Oil Relax. After sport: the Thai Deep Tissue Sport. For back and face: the back and face massage with Gua Sha. If in doubt, give me a call. I am happy to advise you.

How long does a massage last?

Most massages last 60, 90 or 120 minutes, and foot reflexology 60 or 90 minutes. I am happy to tell you on the phone which duration suits you.

Is Thai massage painful?

No, a Thai massage should not hurt. Pressure and stretches can feel intense, but I go entirely by what suits you. Just tell me if anything feels uncomfortable.

Is a massage possible during pregnancy?

Yes, with the pregnancy massage, from the 14th week of pregnancy and after consulting your gynaecologist.

How often should I come for a massage?

That varies a great deal and depends on how much strain your everyday life puts on you. After your first massage, we can discuss together what suits you.

Yes, of course. Call me during opening hours: 079 697 89 98. Online booking is available around the clock.

How do I pay?

You pay after the massage at the studio, in cash or by TWINT. If you book online, you can also pay online straight away.

Can I reschedule or cancel an appointment?

Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the start, directly via the buttons in your confirmation email. If you cancel later, I charge half. If you paid online, the money is refunded automatically: in full up to 24 hours before, half after that. If you did not pay online, please call me to cancel at short notice.

When is the studio open?

Where can I find the studio?

My studio is at Spitalgasse 26 in the heart of Bern's old town, just a few minutes' walk from Bern station. At the weekend I also massage a few steps further on, at Spitalgasse 34 on the 2nd floor. You will see which address your appointment is at when you book and in the confirmation. You will find directions and a map on the contact page.

Do you have gift vouchers?

Yes, you can buy them online on the page «Gift vouchers» and receive them by email at once, or at my studio. They are valid for one year.

For two and at home

Together or at your home

Can I book a massage for two?

Yes, every massage is also available for two: two people at the same time, each with their own therapist, at double the price. You can read more on the couples massage page.

Is the couples massage also available at home?

No, the couples massage is only available at the studio. At your home, I massage one person.

Do you also come to my home?

Yes, on request, in Bern and throughout Switzerland. You send me your preferred date and your address, and I send you an offer including travel. The appointment is only confirmed once you accept it.

What are the travel costs?

That depends on your address. I calculate the travel costs after your request and tell you the amount in my offer, before you book.

How far do you travel?

Anywhere in Switzerland. Write your address in your request, and I will tell you the travel cost in my offer.
